Propella 2025 Results: Scholarships, Destinations, and International Growth

This blog presents the statistics of the 104 placements completed by Propella during 2025 in support of student-athletes who are now fulfilling their academic and athletic dreams abroad.

Our goal remains the same: to positively impact the lives of our clients, providing world-class service and preparing them for success in their next university stage.

Overall Results 2025

For the first time, we surpassed one hundred completed placements, representing a 20% increase compared to the previous year.

Reflecting on the insights and data from our Class of 2025 report, we celebrate the achievements of our student-athletes who turned their dreams into reality through international athletic opportunities.

Although the academic year typically begins in Fall (August or September), some of our clients received offers to start in Spring (January 2025).

Profile of Student-Athletes

Of all students placed:

  • 23% were women
  • 77% were men

This shows that a gender gap still exists, and closing it remains one of our main challenges. We continue working to raise awareness among families about the wide range of opportunities available for female athletes abroad.

Scholarship Coverage and Total Savings

On average, the scholarships obtained by our clients covered 62% of total costs, though results varied widely.
Some reached opportunities exceeding $80,000 per year at world-class institutions such as Syracuse University, University of Central Florida (UCF), and Santa Clara University.

Interestingly, female athletes achieved higher coverage on average (67%) compared to male athletes (61%).

The total savings during the first year of study reached $2.6 million USD, while a typical client saves more than $100,000 USD over the course of their degree thanks to Propella’s guidance.

Destinations and Geographic Distribution

This year, Propella placed student-athletes in four different countries and in more than 25 U.S. states, with the most frequent destinations being Florida, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Texas.

University Athletic Levels

The U.S. collegiate system organizes sports across multiple associations, some with different divisions: NCAA (I, II, III), NAIA, NJCAA (Junior Colleges), NCCAA, and USCAA.

In addition, several of our clients obtained opportunities in Canada, Mexico, and Europe.

Of the total student-athletes placed:

  • 82% joined a four-year university (NCAA, NAIA, NCCAA, USCAA)
  • 6% obtained opportunities outside the United States
  • 28% chose to complete their secondary studies at boarding schools with strong academic and athletic programs

The 6% placed in NCAA Division I reflects how competitive it has become to access this level, driven by league growth and new roster and transfer regulations.

Each opportunity reflects the diversity of academic pathways available to Propella students.
In 2025, our clients earned placements at a wide range of prestigious institutions, from four-year universities to elite boarding schools and international programs.

  • 82% universities (four-year programs)
  • 28% boarding schools (in and outside the U.S.)
  • 6% opportunities outside the United States

These results show that Propella student-athletes not only secure admissions to respected institutions but also benefit from flexible educational models that combine athletics, academics, and global experience.
